Open Positions
Dr. Imani’s research group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Connecticut has multiple Ph.D. openings. In this group, we focus on developing new computational and experimental methods for data-driven modeling and analysis of advanced manufacturing. Some example of trust areas includes: 1) Sensor-based process monitoring and quality control; 2) Bayesian optimization and statistical learning; 3) Control theory and sequential decision making; 4) System diagnostics and prognostics, and reliability improvement; 5) Computer simulation and optimization.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate or master students with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields.
- Strong skills in programming, mathematical modeling, and machine learning.
- Strong communication skills will be a plus.
- Please also refer to graduate school of University of Connecticut for minimum admission requirements.
The Ph.D. student will be fully funded through research assistantship or teaching assistantship. If you are interested, please send your 1) CV/resume and 2) Transcript to Dr. Farhad Imani (farhad.imani@uconn.edu).
